    The Day

    I may be hurt,
    but im not dead.
    it all is amazing,
it goes straight to my head.

    As the sun rises,
    all my fears subside.
    i will find my way,
my heart will be my guide.

    Shadows begin to ramble,
    then they fall away.
i wont let them come out,
    not on this glorious day.

    All the family is there,
    awaiting my arrival.
    there stands the preacher,
    hands clasped around the bible.

    In walk the women,
    glamourous as can be.
    in walk the men,
i cant believe they're all here for me.

    Then everyone stands,
    watching me as i walk.
    when i reach the end,
    the preacher begins to talk.

    I slowly take his hand,
and a tear runs down my face.
then it trickles down my dress,
    made of silk and lace.

    When it is over,
    he gives me a ring,
as he slips it on my finger.
    the music begins to sing.

    As we turn to leave,
    his glance catches mine.
    and i know its forever,
we have left the bad times behind.

    we step out the doors,
    rice flyin in all directions.
    friends and family are crying,
    showing their love and affection.

    I step into the car,
and look at the world behind me.
we are finally starting our lives,
    i am....Married!
