    The Canvas of Life

If I had the colors of the rainbow and a canvas to paint on.
I would paint the story of my life before my time on earth is gone.
I'd paint my trials and tribulations, all of the things that I've been through.
And last but certainly not least, I'd paint a picture of the love I have for you.

I'd paint my hopes and all my dreams on that canvas in the sky.
I'd paint those precious memories, before my last goodbye.
I'd paint a picture of the heavens, where someday I'll stand beside God's
    throne.
I'd paint a picture of my family and of my happy home.

I'd paint a picture of my neighbors and of the friends that I have met.
A picture of my savior him I won't forget.
I'd paint a picture of the world, trying to fine peace.
I'd paint a picture of my prayer to God asking that hate, racism and greed would one day cease.

But alas I'm not an artist, just a humble servant of the Lord.
Trying to be a better person is the goal I work toward.
I say my prayers and try to be the best that I can be.
I'm thankful for the blessings that God gives to me.

Someday when I'm older and my time on earth is through.
And I look back on my life and all the things I tried to do.
I'll say good by to my family, to my friends and to my wife.
Then I'll add the final touches to the canvas of my life.
