The Blank Canvas

Poem Commentary

I have been dealing with some health issues.  It makes you think back over your life and a bit more about your own immortality. Not morbid as my canvas has LOTS of color!

The Blank Canvas

The Blank Canvas

Life is a blank canvas

It begins white and pure

Wrapped and fresh

Innocently waiting

Splash of red the first day

Signals the birth is done

Colors of childhood

Swirl into one another

Pink her first dress

Blue his new jeans

Green grass underneath

Yellow shining sun above

Orange a favored fruit

Pastels and shades

Patterns and plain

Ever-changing

Sharp and bold

Old and slow

Covered in black

Nice perspective on life comparing it to colors, I like that, imaginative and creative and appropriate!

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
