THE BEAUTY OF THE BUTTERFLY

Poem Commentary

I wrote this poem at a time in my life that I could not see or want to see the way that I was made. emotionally or physically. This poem helped me to realize I was made as I was suppose to be.

THE BEAUTY OF THE BUTTERFLY

This very tiny creature, the butterfly, how did it come to be?
The butterfly with it's wondrous beauty and grandeur,
It is so magnificent and free.
Was this butterfly always beautiful?, I am so sure.

I decided to visit my hometown library to look for a scientific essay of the butterfly in a book.
This beautiful creature was cerated from a little worm surrounded by silk.
Is it unthinkable for us to be created by God to have another look?
To compare ourselves to the splendor of the butterfly, like the making of a quilt.

God made the butterfly beautiful in it's time.
God made the butterfly to be as free as a bird.
I know God will make us beautiful when He knows we will be prime.
I know God will make us free through the knowledge of His word.

So you see, the beauty of the butterfly belongs to all of us, as God wills it to be.
But we must seek the truth that we may be totally free.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
