Temptation No More

Its like the cold of a lonely night, the draft of a window not shut tight. You enticed me by the things that you do, not knowing it was a one way ticket to the Devil's pew fooling with you.
I thought it would never come, that day that I would tell him, "I gotta run", run to my Savior and do my labor, cause his words are razor sharp!. I had almost forgotten I even had them in my heart.

I got to do a clean sweep on the spot, then drop.
You made my toes bring balance to the floor,
You made my feet walk right over to your door,
You had my ankles tangleed and puzzled,
You had my knees to the point they buckled,
What are you doing to me?
I slipped and fell out of his Will, my own agenda had me struggling
and trying to pay the bills.
You had my legs on a virtual restain, I couldnt move without
permission from his mind frame.
You had my arms and hands wrapped around your lust,
you almost made my heart bust for to, to much.
In the light of day I'd stumble over your way,
couldn't wait for the night time, the high time the right time.
What you doing to me?
Being as it was, I had to close the door,
It was like turning away from a million bucks, But I
cant see you anymore!
I give my life not unto temptation nor condemnation, for my salvation is far more important to me.

Bravo, you wrote about me before I found the Lord. I sometimes wonder what took me so long. Your poem in inspirational and revelational, though I doubt there is such a word. Keep them coming. You have a true gift.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
