Suddenly(c)
The voice of the Lord came to me one night
As I lay upon my bed with His Word so tightly
Pressed against my chest
Pondering how wonderful He is to me
I love my Lord like that you see
He speaks I listen, when I pray He hears
His comfort erases all my fears
I lay there with my ears wide open
Listening for His voice and hoping
To hear from Him the Word I needed
The answer to the case I’d pleaded
Just before the sleep came in
I heard Him whisper . . .
“I go far beyond that book you’re holding
When pages end I Am yet unfolding
It’s true, from front to back I’m in every word
But eyes have not seen, nor has any ear heard
The complete manifestation of my power”
He led me then to a familiar story *
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory
But in lowliness of mind let each
Esteem other better than you preach
Look not every man on things of his own
But every man on things of another
And really mean it when you say
. . . “I love my brother”
“My dear child receive these Words in your heart
Plant them deeply and never let them depart
I Am moving swiftly, you must move with me
Tis the time you’ve been awaiting
The season of “Suddenly”
