STREET DREAMS
forget what i write it's not your fighti'm the one who has to survive tonight
in my battlezone i call home
i beg for a penny you sell me a dream
life is all that it seems
we wear similiar faces in many different places
acting like we're somebody else
you raise your children not to be like me
dirty deeds on her knees as she begs and pleads
no thanks i'd rather not catch a disease
you go and eat and spend big bucks
do you know how mant times she has to suck
her pride she sells short as she cheats herself
hanging her looser sign on the shelf
poverty lurks in every home some just hide it well
the rich get richer the poor get poorer i'm just trying to get some
hope and life is in her heart resting up aganist her soul
if this evil continues to grow i don't knowwhere she'll go
today many are sleeping under a bridge
we can keep them warm if we learn how to give
