Standing on Your Blame
this stance is the last stance i will take, run out of stanzas and words to write and say,
you k ow as well as i that doesn't happen often.
like all of those pictures full of your smiles,
i can't stop thinking about someone else,
too bad it's the same person you were thinking about,
and too bad it wasn't me.
taking more than a toll on my life,
this toll way has cost me more than spare change,
emptying out more than the center counsel,
maybe follow this path to counseling .
you used to tell me we were perfect for one another,
that you would be lost without me,
maybe you're only lost without a fool by your side.
maybe you deserve to be lost again and maybe then you'll find the one.
this face of recollection and recalling the votes,
the ones my family and friends had for you,
but too bad the ballots were sent out and lost in the mail,
kind of like how you make me feel lost without a reason.
take those words,
you know the ones you use to make me take the blame,
say them into a mirror and make sure you stand there naked,
because they are some of the most hurtful words i've heard,
i think i'm done hearing.
from you
