    Somebody's Song

    It can move you
    It can touch your soul
    Or it can anger you
    Make your heart grow cold

    It can empower you
    Make you strong
    Or it can prove
    That you were wrong

    It can hurt you
    Cause you pain
    Or in some cases
    Keep you sane

    It can excite you
    Make you happy
    But it can make you
    Feel rather crappy

    It can scare you
    Make you fear
    Or to your eye
    Bring a tear

    To it you relate
    It's all you know
    It simply says
What you want it to show

    You turn it on
    When your upset
    And it lightens your heart
    And you no longer fret

    Without it you would die
It's part of who you are
You know it's everywhere you go
Without it you can't make it far

    You hear it all around
    Feel it flowing through you
    The music is everywhere
And play it is what you do

    So play your sweet song
Show what you have to give
    Hopefully you realize
You must play the music to live

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
