    Sol Song

Carry me back to a space in time before I was Rime
Rewind my mind until I find the seventh sign
Blind - I'm twice removed from the fifth element for the hell of it
Study my unique genome through this poem as I roam
On this plane of existence with weakened resistance
With thoughts swelling my brain with the persistence of existence
Pounding drum beats through my soul
    Beating my essence into linguistics

Now I speak in the tongues of reluctant prophets of truth and wisdom
Thoughts flow from my third eye down my cerebral system
The Grim Reaper stood before me
And I embraced and kissed him
    As I barely missed him

So now my opportunity for a dignified egress escapes me
    Demons hold me down
    While Satan rapes me
Mr. Sandman brought me a dream in the form of this nightmare
    Took me to new places
    But I'd already been there
    And done my share

Now I swear on a six pack of Bibles
And build a case of lies
    And developed blinding cataracts
    In all three eyes
Yet I can still see the future
    And predict my past
Because I ate of the Tree of Life
    To break my fast
    At last I am free
And you still can't see the real me
    How can that be?

I like the symbolism and the truth behind it all... I feel the emotion. Keep writing.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
