Shadow

Shadow

I feel trapped
confined to the shell
behind the veil of safety

Days pass by
nameless, pointless
piling into the past

Remnants of sanity
like crumbs on the carpet
get swept away with the trash

I feel the presence
looking over me with pride
reveling in my self destruction

Pieces of a shattered life,
cries from a wounded soul,
gasps from a strangled child,

I reach out for help
into the void of apathy
seeing only myself

I gotta tell ya, that photo combined with this poem, is a perfect combination. This is a dark piece that shows real emotional struggle. Well done.

yes dark and open,,love your flow,,so as time will tell I will always see shadows as the day fades,,

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
