Poem Commentary

Needs revision. Going out for pizza now so maybe later.

Separated in Dreams

This crippling find of you left me declaring your peace

That is what flung me away into your arms.

I cared none the less all the years up to now

That take me further along the rest of our lives.

I desired your arms and dreamed of us when

Even the night kept the flame low, almost away

You may have one time or another felt the same,

I at least hope that you have.

Tonight the clouds are so low that

The rain dares not to drown us

My eyes are so heavy that sleep

Will not come for the burden of

My heart, but the rain may drown me

On my own bed, as I think of you

And of me, because I’m unable to fill the gaps

Of my mind to think only of us,

and do away with the memory

Of when we did separate.
