Saving Grace

Saving Grace
Mistakes are that which break a man
Humanity as a whole
This is the story of the life
Of that which breaks a soul
To mend a broken heart is that
Which takes the time of life
It takes the world for it to turn
From loving through the strife
I was not me my love
And sorry will never do
That all the time I had on earth
Was not spent all with you
You left too soon and flew away
And as I watched I cried
And as I watched you fly away
A part of me had
Mistakes are that which break a man
Humanity as a whole
This is the story of the life
Of that which breaks a soul

To mend a broken heart is that
Which takes the time of life
It takes the world for it to turn
From loving through the strife

I was not me my love
And sorry will never do
That all the time I had on earth
Was not spent all with you

You left too soon and flew away
And as I watched I cried
And as I watched you fly away
A part of me had died

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
