RENDEZVOUS (for My Uncommon Love)
Let me take your hand
and lead you along
the true path of love and
where the leaves rustle long
in the cool breeze.
Let me take the lead
to stumble first
on the cobblestones bed
lest your naïve nimble toes burst
to crush the thistles.
Let me have your hand
to feel the smooth coolness
of the warm moisture band
in your green palm caress
creased with intricate curves.
Let me take the lead
to cushion the blaze of the sun
on your embryonic supple skin
lest your soft furs
flicker and wither.
Let me take your hand
to hold firm the un-aged heart
that I tremble for
lest I falter and
blunder and stutter.
Let us go together
where none can
trace our path
to lose the world behind
and find ourselves alone.
Let us grow wings and
fly away to that place
where we and only we
know so well, where
we talk in mute silence.
Let us go My Love
and stay in the place
where we and only we
have discovered, where
love is the air to breathe.
Let us leave now
for I fear the
unwholesome breeze
of this loveless world
threatens our uncommon flame.
