    Remember?

Remember the months, being locked in pod 3?
Cell 46, just some brothas and me.
Remember the day, in that little motel?
In just an instant, your life went to hell.
Remember probation, with tests and that class?
That was one subject, that you wouldn't pass.
Remember the size of that 6x10 cell?
Look through the glass and inhale the smell.
Remember your greed, your ego and pride?
That's why you're here, banned from outside.
Remember how slow the days all drug by?
Can't say a word, you better not cry.
Remember the stories of guns and of dope?
I can tell you when T.I. bought his first boat.
Remember how loud the cell always was?
They all called me Bret, cracker or cuz.
Remember the ones that you left behind?
though they were gone, they stayed in your mind.
And finally, Remember its all up to you
The places you go, and the things that you do....

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
