    Rejection

You have cried on my shoulder
    I have contained your pain,
I could have left you alone,
    not care, walk away...
Instead, I stood by your side
    soothe your anger,
    drank your tears
    caressed your ego
    made you whole again...
and, all I received was rejection.
    I stand alone
among the ruins of what we were,
    knee deep in sorrow
no place to go, but here.
    Braving the winds of self-pity,
    denying there is any hope
    ripping away the shackles
    I stand tall,
    and then, I am gone.

I know what it like to be rejected. Usually the people that] reject you are the ones who return again when things do not go well with them. Ome day he will realized that when all others have forsaken him, you will stand by his side. Good poem. Very true.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
