    Rejection

Well of course the fox she looked her best
I counted sheep to stay at rest
a false assumption, one true test

and though I dwell in constant hell
"the look" despised the wishing well
oh, why I feel? no one can tell

a sappy tale but with no fairy
led a dream that started scary
and ended sweet, a moral barley

Oh why I feel? I'll never know
an endless though, a constant glow
that chains the life to make it slow

the fox she praises where she prays
a shallow deep inside her haze
yet I still watch in constant gaze

so what I've learned is what I've lost
a simple lesson to be taught
that need not come at any cost

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
