    "Overstanding"

    I love you-
It wasn't when I saw you-
It wasn't making up after the first time we argued-
It wasn't in the days we spent holding hands or taking long walks that engaged it-
And... it wasn't even the first time we made it-
    But I love you-
It wasn't captured by you in the war for my heart-
Traveling through burned bridges and breaking down built walls-
You didn't bring it to life with hope when it was scared to death-
    But yet and still-
    It's real-
No argument or reason to contest-
    I love you-
See they say you don't miss a good thing till it's gone-
And that you don't know what you have till it's lost-
Well here's another one that may work for you-
You don't know how much it means to you-
    Till it hurts you-
    See I love you-
But I wasn't sure the feeling was the same....till the tears came-
Never figured that it mattered that much till it mattered so much that your impact left me shattered and crushed-
Mind scattered, a bunch of thoughts racing to configure themselves into energy that'll shine the light bulb of an epiphany on the identity of why do i feel so much misery-
    And then it hit me...-
    Doubt slowly deterring-
    I love you-
I found out by realizing how much you could hurt me-
Had me stuck for a second I admit-
    But now I'm convinced-
Only love could hurt like this-
And with these feelings now defined-
I can finally breathe a little bit better-
It's a little easier to to sigh-
So thank you for clearing that up for me-
    I get it now-
    I love you-
    GOOD BYE!!!!

Awww this poem is so sad, but so true. Love hurts so bad, makes you not even want it anymore. You've expressed the meaning of love perfectly. Tight work

Thank you again sweetheart....Maybe not the meaning of love...no one knows that...but maybe a lil piece of it though...watch out for a new one of mine called cry baby...i think you'll like it

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
