Promises
PromisesIn the twilight hours as the cloak of darkness,
Envelopes the hues of bruised and burnished violet and orange,
It is but the labor of a new day.
For the end is truly only the beginning,
Of the promise of another tomorrow.
As darkness descends and veils completely the light,
In the inky blackness shrouding the endless sky,
We mourn the death of yesterday.
It is but the birth of brilliant stars and a silvered moon,
The future of another silent promise.
The filmy dawn creeps across the weary horizon,
Water colored skies; pink and lavender caress the velvet cheeks of a new day,
We embrace with utter gladness newborn life.
The crowning glory of natures labor,
The fulfillment of the promise.
Such is the evolution of our humanity,
Shades of grayed sadness and bursts of elation,
The joys of life and the fears of death.
Complicate the search of life's true meaning,
The wondering of what promise lay before us.
As death overtakes the vessels from which our breath stirs,
A gentle stillness overcomes our thundering hearts,
Our earthly presence quietly completed.
We return to the dust, from which we were created,
The ultimate promise unfolds.
For the glory begins with song of angels,
Rapturous peace and jubilation stir the breath of life anew.
Renewal of our souls and life everlasting.
Complete life's true goal, life's true purpose,
God's promise completed.
It is God, who created the twilight, the dawn, day and night,
The sun, the brilliant stars and the beaming moon.
Life, birth, trials and tribulations, and the death of our human bodies,
Yet we are reborn by His loving hand,
The real promise revealed.
