Praises

I start each day with just a sigh
With a smile my pain I hide
I often wonder why I try
But in him I can confide
I look around at all I see
Thinking back on where I’d be
If God’s grace was not with me
Thinking back on where I’d be

I lift my praise to him up high
I fight the tears back from my eye
I know although I live in sin
My forgiveness starts with him

My kids awake with sparkling eyes
Their innocence I realize
It must not be compromised
Why I live is no surprise
With a smile they ease my pain
Making sense of what’s insane
Pity now would be so vein
In their eyes I have fame

I lift my praise to him up high
For the gift of sparkling eyes
I have stumbled but I try
And with him my mercy lies

My wife’s an Angel as it seems
So full of life so full of dreams
She patches me up at the seams
In her eyes her love gleams
Though this world is often cold
As a man I must be bold
Protect her heart as it unfolds
Like a precious piece of gold

I lift my praise to him up high
For the love in Angel’s eye
All the blessings gave to me
And the choice to be free

I start this day with a smile
For all I have I'll go that mile
Praising God that I am me
Praising God that I am free.

powerful :)

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
