My name is Lynette Marie Johns and I was born in Long Beach, California. As early as 7 years old, the Lord Jesus Christ has been in my heart. Through him the gift to write poems, songs, and plays has been given to me. I am thankful that God uses me to encourage people all around the world, through the gospels in the Holy Bible. I am a down to earth, straight up, keep it real type of person. My heart is pure and bold. I'm not a day dreamer; I'm a go getter. I'm not one that fantasizes; I make it happen. I was raised with three siblings over me and three under me. Some call me a Navy brat because my father, Clearance Cleotha Long Jr. served in the military for 34 years. My mother, Annie Laura Long was a very strong, black, independent women who had to be mom and dad for all of our forming years. She raised 7 kids practically by herself. My parents are both deceased now but what they taught me will never die.
I graduated from Long Beach Poly High School. I sought my BA degree at Cal State University of Long Beach and I am currently working for the county of Los Angeles. One thing that has stuck with me down through the years is this saying, " A winner is never a quitter and a quitter is never a winner". That's the reason why I keep it pushing.
