Biography

My name is Prestina, a wife and mother to 3 beautiful children. I was born and raised here in Arizona on the Navajo Nation reservation. I'm currently in college, going for my Bachelors in Criminal Justice. Two years to go and I'll have my degree! Poetry was introduced to me by my 6th grade teacher Mrs. Tucker. She entered the first poem I had ever written into a contest and it won. From there I had used poetry for a lot of my emotions. I've always been able to write what I felt and what I was going through. As I started to share my poetry with my family and friends I realized that they could relate to a lot of the things I was saying. It's because of that confidence I've been able to carry this poetry writing into my adulthood. So please enjoy and don't forget to leave comments!! Thanks!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
