Biography
Let me confess.... I always hated poetry. Didn't get it -didn't like it. I hate pretention and incessant dissection of poetry. If it doesn't make sense or grab me somehow then I am not interested - my own brand of snobbery?
Then I read a poem - a funny, clever thing (wish I could remember which one it was!) and my opinion started to change.
Now I see poetry as a way of expressing events in your life that are impossible to express in conventional conversation. So, I make attempts to convey the seemingly insignificant events in my life through poetry. I try to be unpretentious and fresh.
