Biography

My name is brittany rae Williams. I believe everyone has the chance to do 1 great thing in their life and make a lifelong impression on someone's life. I believe that it is up to you to decide whether to take the chance, and whether to make it a negative or positive impression on a persons life. I believe that "without struggle, there is no progress"(Fredrick Douglas) and I believe that without progress there is no success. Without success there is no further will to advance in life. Everyone needs to struggle an inch, progress an ounce, succeed a bit, and have the will to further advance in life. Doesn't matter how you were raised or what circumstances you have to overcome. In my eyes, I'm currently in the progression state of life, but to others I may have already succeeded. Different views, different struggles, different circumstances. I was a military brat who moved every 2-4 years with my family. I believe moving has given me an upper hand with enabling me to fit in whereever I go and to easily associate myself with people from different regions of the world. I graduated High School from Upstate NY and immediately moved down to Florida to start college. I was 18 years old and thought I knew everything. I had the world by the disco balls. I'm only 23 now, but I have since then transferred to numerous schools, got married and struggled and still am struggling to finish my degrees. In the short 5 years, I feel like I have grown up, taken off my rose colored glasses and now view the world differently. I used to think that I could just jump into anything and succeed automatically. First signs of struggle forced me to weaken and run. Now I'm able to stand up and fight for what I want and fight for what I believe in. I believe in the power of education and the power of higher learning. I believe in giving everyone the benefit of the doubt and I believe everyone can achieve great things, when presented the opportunity. I am an elementary/special education major in college, wishing to further advance onward to graduate school afterwards to get my masters in speech and language pathology. The key is to always keep your perspective in check and to surround yourself with people who encourage, respect and admire you. My family has always been there to support me along the way, I just didn't realize it at times. I believe in capitalizing the first letters of your name when you truly know who you are and what you stand for; when you received your chance to do 1 great thing in your life and you made something of yourself. If you want to know more about me, just ask.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
