    penetrating

    I am afraid
    of what to feel
    it kills
    always
as I begin to be set free
    I trust you
    so convincing as you are
seeme to be the same system
    with you and I
    meeting, trusting
    frienship
    love, hate
    leaving
    as I lose too hard
    no life dwells in me
    anymore
    it is all so fabricated
    the words, smiles
    thoughts conjured
    in your mind
    with every passing moment
    why?
    an open invitation to walk
in and destroy all the pain
    you and I have felt
    you coming back
    I won't be here.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
