    Patterns of this World

You left like i knew you would
You took all that you thought you should
I want to forget you for good
I dont want to live like this

    You took my heart
You made it black and blue
    And made it like you
    You tore me apart
and gave all i had to you
    and now im like you

You left me so empty and cold
You had all of me and yet behold
You wanted even more to hold
I dont want you in my life

    You took my life
    You drained my entire soul
Now im left in an unending hole
    You caused me strife
My life is the reflection of coal
I just want to be whole

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
