Paint

They paint me plain
They paint me beautiful
Can they not see that I
Grow colder every day

The face of a ghost
Lips of a red rose
Eyes that tell a story
Of a girl with no soul

Even with the glitter
the color they try to add
there is no spirit there to catch
there is nothing left

they paint me plain
they paint me beautiful
they paint pictures of a girl
who never let herself be seen
