    Paint our own hues

Flying through spirals of long lost cells, each color coming to life to tell their story to me. How can you not remember yells my body, how can you not see? The yellow, the purple and the blue that permeate from me?

The colors inside make you feel what you feel, they make you who you are...we speak to you each evening as the day turns to night and dreams invade your consciousness as you turn out the light.

The joy that permeates, the pain that hurts like hell, the jealousy you feel and you never tell, the hurt that you've covered in anger, the fear that lives below, all these are your colors that we are here to know.

Do not be afraid, love them all the same, we are here to show you that you are not to blame. When choice becomes easy and you share your colors as you choose, then we know you are healing and all becomes in tune.

Trust who you trust, believe in it all, don't wait for others to tell you which colors you will paint with, which ones you will deny, deny only one and you will surely die.

Time creates our colors, our parents bleed them to, our world is made of colors but we must choose the hues.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
