    Pain

    Pain lingers on dusty shelves.
Horror seeps through windows that remain closed.
I walk around looking at the ground,
Empty hallows searching for something that is never there.
I missed all the differed dreams,
Always quick to pick up all of the children's
    High-pitched screams.
    I lost hope.
Tomorrow is too far off and to think back to
    Yesterdays memories proves deadly.
Other's warnings fall upon deaf ears-
Tears turn into a bloody mess
Never pretty to see but manages to
    Fascinate all.
Left alone to fight off personal
    Demons.
    Weakness tries to take over-
Most of the time I feel like giving up.
    Wonder what would happen.......

the poem reminds me of someone who has reached the end and is not sure were to go from here

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
