    Pain

    Your silence is painful.
I can fell it deep down
    Carved in my soft flesh,
    Arrows looking for my weakness...

    Your silence is a burden
    Overloading my frail soul
    That used to roam freely
In an ever lasting search for happiness...

Some day this silence will kill
The last ray of hope inside me.
    And you'll never know why
Nothing will be there for us but emptiness...

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
