    One Night

The night was still and lonely my heart was beating fast
An as I stared into your eyes  I knew it be the last.

A voice that said this is the end kept ringing in my ear
an when you said goodbye that nigtht I shed a million tears
Your memories won't leave me your name is always there
An in our hearts will always be the things we kept and shared

You walked away so slowly and never turned to look but, on that night that lonely night my heart is what you took.

very touching poem. I like the message. Many people have been down that path including myself.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
