Oh! Oklahoma
Oh! thou land of my birth, I moan for thee. What is it that thou hast come to be?
That thou shouldst nurture so much evil I see
amongst the people that inhabit thee.
What anger shouldst possess a man
that he taketh away the lives f innocent people?
that he extinguisheth the bright spirits of lil children,
the adorable ones that live a life so simple.
Oh! Oklahoma, away thine loved ones have been spirited,
leaving behind just beautiful memories of tender moments.
Would it thine tears were left to flow un-inhibited,
nary a sea would smother their raging torrent,
for thine pain runs so deep, un-prohibited,
deeper that any newspapers may comment.
Oh! that I could just but for a moment
talk to the little souls gone on before.
Just for a moment that they hear my anguished lament
that this vile deed hast broken our hearts sore.
But in God we trust, and with knees bent,
beseech Him to keep their souls in His care
'til our time comes and, we too, make that long ascent.
