Ode to my Father
When a man's existence ceasesAnd his life beyond begins
Those left behind, must carry on
And prove their faith in him.
God giveth and he taketh
His reasons hard to see
But he leaves us with his blessings
On the wings of memory....
Ode to my Father
When a man's existence ceasesWhen power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
