    Not To Be Me

To the one who knows all , on your name I call.
Please tell me I pray, why'd you bring me this way.

If given a choice , I'd shout at my loudest ,                                      so you'd hear my voice.

Please dont put me there , I dont want to go.
    I dont want a body , I dont want a soul.

I dont want a mind , aware of lifes pain and  can
bring back bad memories , like storms bring rain.

I dont want ears to hear children cry , or eyes
that see life . then watch it die.

I dont want a heart full of love to share,
then put in a world where so many dont care.

Souls may be strong , but minds and bodies
are weak. Given the choice this placed I'd not seek.

Before I was born, my whole life , you could see.
You knew from the beginning I'd choose not to be.

Before my lungs held their first breath , you knew
    of my sin.

Tell me dear lord , why did you let me begin.

an interesting concept a plea for no life at all, I hope that you see some of the beauty of life as well, but a very good read with a novel premise

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
