Not Supposed To

You aren't supposed to weaken,
you arent supposed to lie
You arent supposed to do this;
stay up late at night and cry
you aren't supposed to worry
you arent supposed to fight
you're supposed to convince them all
that everythings all right
you were supposed to step out there
and be the one whose strong
you were supposed to make believe
that nothing could go wrong 
you weren't supposed to crumble
and you weren't allowed to fall 
You were supposed to be the one
who stands up through it all 
You weren't supposed to run;
to seek out a place to hide
you were never supposed to give in
to all the pain thats pooled inside 
You should have had the answers;
should have known the thing to do
You should have, but you didn't
And now you're all the more subdued
