    No More Promises

    NO MORE PROMISES

Unable to focus, to feel, to speak,
"Won't happen again,he promised last week.
I cannot believe he hit me once more.
Punched in the face, fell down to the floor

"Won't happen again," he promised last week.
Unable to focus, to feel, to speak,
Daddy, daddy, stop hitting my mom.
She's crying, crying, Daddy be calm.

Unable to focus, to feel, to speak,
"Won't happen again.”,He promised last week.
Oh, I'm so sorry, I do love you so!
So sorry, sorry, Wake up. Don't Go.

"Won't happen again.", he promised too late.

    I promise....
    I promise.....
    NO MORE PROMISES.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
