NO GOOD-BYE
No matter the pain, Good-bye always lingers to long in your mind. You ease your head towards the door, And your heart works it's way backwards. Calling the name of the one you so long to hear call yours. Praying silently that if you linger just long enough.. they will realize the error of their ways. That they will realize that you are the one that you are the one that they truly wish to stand beside throughout eternity. But as I said... Good-bye always lingers to long. And we are faced with the reality of our loss. Forced to be undeniably aware of our own insignifigant role in our own life.
Without real warning your minds eye becomes appallingly aware that we are shrinking.... Shrinking not only from the presence of the one person we belived in, But from ourself. From your belief in yourself. Left wondering how we could have betrayed our own heart so completely.
And still your heart refuses to utter the words. No matter how many times you hear it in your head, No matter how many times your lips force the movement. Good-bye is not complete without the hearts consent.
Down silent pathways you follow, Willingly terrified of the outcome. Of the extinguished flame, Of the darkness that will follow. The course must be run, The heart will have it's way.
