    Myself

There is an emptiness within me,
    A void I cannot fill.
The longer I go without filling it,
    The more unhappier I become.
This emptiness only I can fill.
I feel it is other oriented.
    But it is not,
    It is mine alone.
    I am who I am.
A whole person on my own!
I do not need someone else to make me complete.
It is hard to stand alone in the face of pain!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
