    My Temple

My body is my temple, though shall I see
No-one shall defile me, that will never be.
If I constitute safely, I preserve myself,
If unliking of my decision, I'll reserve my shelf.
My spot cold, no dust where I should be
Must I protect myself, be careful about me.
He or she that reads this may not even know
That I have my self-worth, it's my inner glow.
They who read this may not even see
My body is my temple, I'm protecting me.
I'm not deep in this poem, not even shallow over top
If I let you destroy me, will this destruction ever stop?
My ultimate decision to protect has been put in place
I look in the mirror at mine own self.........smile at my own face.
As I said before, my body is my temple
You can love me or leave me, it's just that simple.

    Edward Orlando Griffin
