    My Sanity

Slowly I go insane as they use me
    Bringing me to extremes
Till I pull out my hair and scratch out my eyes
I can't control this demon inside
    Which feeds on their greediness
And I fall on my knees and cry
No one here to pull me out
I wonder aimlessly in this darkness
Blinded with suffering which is slowly
Driving me mad till I scream
And no one hears me or cares
They walk by me as I scream
With blank looks they stare at me
No one to comfort me in my sanity

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
