My Own Prisoner
Captured in the dark, no light in sight
Prisoner of your own life
No key to be found as a treasure chest
Can’t see or hear or even breath
Untold teardrops running down
Invisible as your unspoken soul
Broken as your heart of gold
Confusion running through your mind
Everyday in and out of time
Drowning in a sea of shame
That can not seem to go away
Wondering about love or faith
Shouting out loud will I ever be alive
Will I ever be heard or seen for me
I am running out of breath
As this shame consumes of me
Will I ever break away as I try to escape
This lie of mine
Time let it be told and unravel
My soul
That one who holds the key
Come forth
Then free I shall be
Can’t you see or hear me
Love is my heart and faith stays in
My soul
Prisoner of your own life
No key to be found as a treasure chest
Can’t see or hear or even breath
Untold teardrops running down
Invisible as your unspoken soul
Broken as your heart of gold
Confusion running through your mind
Everyday in and out of time
Drowning in a sea of shame
That can not seem to go away
Wondering about love or faith
Shouting out loud will I ever be alive
Will I ever be heard or seen for me
I am running out of breath
As this shame consumes of me
Will I ever break away as I try to escape
This lie of mine
Time let it be told and unravel
My soul
That one who holds the key
Come forth
Then free I shall be
Can’t you see or hear me
Love is my heart and faith stays in
My soul
