My Monster

It is finished
I am no more
I will never be
I never was before
I finally stopped the pain
It was happening again
I couldn't stand the hurt
I wanted it to end
Bring hurt to the flesh
To kill pain in the soul
Death is the result
When hurt and pain become a whole
I bled too much
My heart stopped it's beat
I hurt no more
My task is complete
I pushed her too far
This monster in me
She gave me a warning
But I wanted to be free
I didn't want to live
To no longer exist
This monster called love
Just longed to be kissed
So this monster in me
I kissed her good bye
We embraced till the end
Me and the monster called life

This monster called life; great line! when the monster is life itself ending life is the end of our monster. I like that. Your poem inspires me to write more. Dark poetry is so refreshing. I tire of love poems and relish in the dark

chillingly familiar...I can identify with you through this poem as I struggle daily with my own demons...

very sad.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
