    MY LIFE!

    I awoke this morning being told what to do.
    What the HECK; I'm an adult, aren't you?
    I'm forty-five and still treated like a kid.
    I'm telling you folks that I'm flipping my lid!
    Sure I've mental issues which make me disabled;
    What's going on? I know I'm surely enabled!
    I can hold down a job! For I've done it before.
    Manager on Duty; until employer slammed the door!
    I tell them I'm sorry; though I didn't do wrong!
    They just keep saying; "move along, move along."
    I need to be honest and tell them straight out;
    If I'm to know what MY LIFE is all about!
    I'm told it's a mistake; what the hell do they know?
    Only I decide where "MY LIFE" will eventually go!!!!

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
