    my heart

    my heart is misery

wondering in a world of worry
    wanting to hear your voice
    feeling to touch your skin
    looking to see your face

    my heart is racing

    running to catch my breath
    refusing to let go
    life has no meaning
    I'm falling apart

    my heart is hurting

sinking in a puddle of loneliness
swimming in a lake of tears
    drowning without you here
crashing down with the world around me

    my heart is sinking

    lift me up
    love me now
    carry my soul
    i see higher ground

    my heart is turning

    we found this place
    when love was hard
    keep on going
    never look down

    my heart is healing

    safe from the worry
    snuggling in your arms
you saved me from the misery
I give you my love with my heart, mind and soul

    my heart is now gold

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
