    My Demise

It was a sunny day at the local pool
I migh have been about fifteen
When in walked a gal in a red bikini
She was the most gorgeous thing I'd ever seen

I went home that day after swimming
but she was the only thing in my head
I told my Dad i had met the one
40 years later I wish I was dead

At first we seemed like the perfet pair
My head would swim like it had been bumped
Now I realize we are all wrong
That this marriage long ago should have been dumped

So listen my friend to these words of caution
Don't find yourself in a similar hell
Opposite attract it really is true
But nobody tells you ultimately they repel.

This is so true. It is amazing we can review our thoughts and be ourselves and do not be judged

Honest ,frank and a stinging truth to many. The painful truth of choices we make when we are young.

thanks! So glad you liked it.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
