Monster in the Mirror
She speaks of awe,
a beautiful angel,
poised and perfect,
one every eye will look upon.
A little wish:
she wants to be that angel.
Trying so hard,
nothing is enough.
How could she ever be?
She's only a mere monster,
and disdain spits out of every pore.
The mirror shows,
what is her worst nightmare.
Where is that beautiful body?
is that luminous face,
hidden behind that ugly mask?
She wishes for the angel to be real,
to be her.
Tearing out her hair,
never good enough she knows,
a beautiful angel,
poised and perfect,
one every eye will look upon.
A little wish:
she wants to be that angel.
Trying so hard,
nothing is enough.
How could she ever be?
She's only a mere monster,
and disdain spits out of every pore.
The mirror shows,
what is her worst nightmare.
Where is that beautiful body?
is that luminous face,
hidden behind that ugly mask?
She wishes for the angel to be real,
to be her.
Tearing out her hair,
never good enough she knows,
she could never be.
The anguish fills her head.
Crying out,
to that monster in the mirror,
The anguish fills her head.
Crying out,
to that monster in the mirror,
she wants to be beautiful.
