Moi in his special way took Kenya
From where Kenyatta had left
And with courage and determination
He pushed them though hard and soft times
So he is a Hero

Not many saw that to begin with
But now we stuck in the mad
We feel and see for ourselves
He was doing his best that was taken for grated
So he is a Hero

Life was fair during moi’s day
He was with people and listen to them
Tried the best to meet their immediate need
Struggled with every day of being a leader
So he is a Hero

The day of moi saw Kenyans get fair transport
Nyayo milk was provided, yellow maize saved lives
He was happy with us and sad with us, he shared in all
He swallowed his pride when there was need and kept it
So he is a Hero

Rome was never built in one day
The same with Kenya, it can never be built in one decade
Moi was for that and he tried day and year after
But we felt he was not good enough, till we changed him
So he is a Hero

We could show our appreciation to Moi
By admitting that he was a man with his
Strengths and weakness, but he was quick
To make a change if he felt things were wrong
