Memories

Staring at these walls again,

Dreaming of the past,

Slipping through them one by one,

Wishing they would last.

Sitting, thinking, dreaming, waiting,

Wanting things to go my way,

Watching, wondering, living, breathing,

What I would give for that perfect day.

Swallowed by the many emotions

Sorting and tumbling through them all,

Imagining people, just as they once were,

Everything holding me in thrall.

Loving, hating, laughing crying,

Family and friends are all transparencies.

Drifting through, never staying long,

These are our memories.
