Me and the World

Poem Commentary

Everyone struggles daily and my personal thoughts and struggles are my motivation to succeed.

Me and the World

It's so hard at times, to qualify I mean.
I cry inside daily and the color of frustration paints my face,
I try to cherish life, thoughts and memories of things I've seen.
The times of satisfaction soon ends and the glory fades without a trace.
It seems that when I work hard, sometimes it is for naught,
The only things that I feel at peace with, comes from the achievements,
with my hands I have wrought.
Time is not always for me, people are not always happy for me...
But, the day will come even if not this day.
I will stand, without the weight of the world making me want to drop to my knees.
I will be what I will be; and life will be what I want it to be. I have carved my path and on course I will stay.

I just came across this and wanted to say.. I love your poem. It fits me today and for a photo I am doing for a project. I used your poem and put your name as credit. I hope that is okay.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
