Mama

My life began in you mama
Created byGod, I am the precious fruit of your womb...
Mama, nine months I basked inside of you
You were my protective fortress.
In you I was lovingly nurtured and sustained
Mama you hardly complained
With a spirit of joy you endured the pain...
Abel to love me from the very beginning,
Mama you even loved me when I was sinning
Just like Cain, I caused you to cry tears like rain...
You were my first teacher,
My first and only true friend
Mama you even filled the role of daddy every now and then...
When I was hungry mama you gave me to eat,
When I was thirsty mama you gave me to drink..
When I was naked you clothed me,
When I was hurting mama you comforted me..
When I was alone in prison you were the one that visited me,
Because of your prayers mama I came to believe...
When I look into your eyes mama I see and feel the love of Jesus Christ,
For like Him you were willing to sacrifice your life...
You have gone on mama, yet you are still with me
You taught me about love and through love I have been set free...
So many missed opportunities,
But now I have life anew
I know that you are looking down on me from heaven,
And I want you to know mama that I love and adore you..
I love you...
